Jason's 25!

Happy Birthday Jase!!
Today Jason turned 25! To celebrate, we went out to eat at a local sushi restaurant called Peter's Sushi & Thai.  We were not all that impressed with the quality of food.  We love sushi and were a little bummed by our experience.  O well, we are sure to find our go to sushi place in the future! On a good note, we had a great yoga session this morning with my cousin Brent.  Jason had never been to a yoga class before, and I was really excited that he wanted to go.  We hope to be able to practice some acroyoga one day, what fun! It felt good to be in a yoga studio this morning... it definitely was better then my make shift yoga session I did in the apartment by myself yesterday! Anyways, here is to birthdays, yoga, and finding a great AWESOME sushi restaurant!

Losers and Work Friends

Jason and I had our first official outing with some of his new co-workers work friends last night. We were actually on our way to a new restaurant when Jason got a text asking us to come out for drinks. So we  made a last minute decision to go meet his friends at a local bar and grill, Losers.  We had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone and I enjoyed getting to meet some of the people he works with. They all call Jason by his last name, "Markey."  It is a little something they do for fun in the office, everyone is known by his or her last name, so of course it carries over outside of the office as well. Everyone wanted to know how we were liking the new place and city.  Of course we had nothing but good great things to say. There is just so much to do here. Yesterday, after I dropped Jason off at work and put the mattress together, I decided to head over to the mall (gotta do whats important!).  So, I didn't realize how early it still was. The mall stores weren't even open yet! So, there I was brisk walking around the mall with all the old people trying to kill time and burn some calories.  Some of the mall walkers take their walking seriously! If I even slowed down the slightest to do a little "window shopping", I was almost plowed over by them! Eventually the stores did open and I could seek safety in some of my favorites clothing stores...sigh of relief. Anyways, the mall had lots of nice shops and it was good to get out in the community.... Back with my story of last night. After we had a few drinks at Losers, Jason and I were starved! So, we got a recommendation to go to a small cantina, called.....I forget the name, but it was really REALLY good! We will definitely return, hopefully with friends and family!

Jase and I at the cantina...restaurant name still to come

God's Plan and Jason's Job

Jason's job is what brought us to Franklin, TN.  Currently, he works for Fidelity Investments.  This is his first week on the job!  It still feels like yesterday that he and I were in high school, and our only worries were homework, sports, and when we would get to see each other next.  We have come a long way!  Now we are 24 and 25 and are embarking on our new stage in life. I truly feel that God, all knowing, put us here for a reason (as he usually does).  It has been clear in my life that God has played a huge role in where my family ended up.  For the longest time, I lived in Alpharetta, Ga, just 30 minutes north of the city Atlanta.  While my family was living there, one of my brothers was diagnosed with a rare eye disease known as Stargardts.  Stargardt's Disease is a rare form of macular dystrophy and has taken away all of Tyler's central vision and most lower peripheral vision.  I know that the lord blessed my family and had us live close to some of the best eye doctors at Emory University in Atlanta and a great public school system (offering Tyler support and equipment he needed).  Today, Tyler is studying law school down at University of Miami with his seeing eye dog, Sailor, and his beautiful girlfriend Emily.  It just goes to show that God plays a powerful role and has a plan for you.  I have all the faith in the world that mine and Jason's time here in Franklin is going to be blessed.
Jason on his 4th day of work...isn't he cute handsome

Gettin' all spiffied up!

My first visit

"Tailgate" style living room
I finally made my first visit out to Franklin, Tn to visit Jason and see our first apartment! I could not wait to get a picture that showed our "tailgate" style living room, isn't it cute!! Well, what else do you expect from two poor, recent college graduates. At least we have our education. Honestly, Jason and I have no problem kicking back in our "Georgia" red tailgate chairs, sipping some wine, and watching tv ... ESPN. So here it is folks, our first apartment. My favorite is the kitchen. It has lots and lots of storage for all of our...soon to be ours... kitchen/cooking ware and accessories.

My favorite...the kitchen!

As I was saying, the kitchen is my favorite part of the apartment. Jason and I can hardly believe we get to cook in it.  It is nicer than we could have asked for.  Not bad for a first time kitchen! I can almost smell the cookies baking in the oven now! YUM YUM

Our new "FLUFFO" bed

This is quite an upgrade for Jason.  For the past week, he has been sleeping on a twin blow-up mattress using extra blankets as a pillow.  But air bed no more! Our new bed was delivered this morning! Jason was at work and I was at the apartment when I heard the mattress truck pull in. Sure enough, I looked out of the window and there it was! I was so excited! The two men carried it up to our third floor apartment (glad Jason and I didn't have to do that) with ease.  15-minutes later, our new bed was set up! Isn't she a beauty! I am sure Jase will sleep well tonight!

Our first trip to the new Whole Foods... can you find Jason?
